Me and my friend what to make a hosting server to host a online servive for web hosting. We have the hole site made the only part we are stuck on is using a empty harddrive as a web server.

That might actually be cheaper than onsite hosting considering internet connection costs. Also you have support on-call. I would suggest going the remote server route once you get some clients.

Here%26#039;s a tip tho. Find a qualified Linux admin and put him/her on retainer. Stuff doesn%26#039;t break very often at all, but when it does...good help is priceless.



Oh yeah, and you will want a business class internet connection with several static IP addresses. I am sure you can take care of purchasing a domain.



...and do be sure to make daily backups. If you remember anything, remember your backups.
