How i can make a web site with fee host on internet?

Hi,

To create a website there are varios tools for free. You can download Netscape Composer to create your website. IF you use Mozilla FireFox Download extention named %26quot;Nandu%26quot;.

To host your site for free search google for free hosting.

Or see:

That is one of the best cause the rest usually will add popups to your site.

How to use a web host to build a site?

I have purchased a domain name and reseller hosting account but now I am clueless on how to tie it all together. How do I use my control panel to put up my site.

How to use a web host to build a site?

get a template from http://www.web-site-templates.biz and upload it

How to use a web host to build a site?

Where did you buy it from?

Are you useing cPanel?

Email me at youngbizman16@yahoo.com and I%26#039;ll help you.

Other Replys:Once you have a domain name, I assume you also have a host? Two separate things, ya know. You should have an FTP address, userid, and password. Got those? Get%26#039;em!

Once you have those, got your .html or .htm files ready? Get%26#039;em.

The main one%26#039;s your index.htm. Some hosts (like Yahoo!) need the extension to be .html. Other hosts don%26#039;t mind if it%26#039;s .htm. Find out. Name accordingly. %26quot;index.htm%26quot; is the home page where your website calls arrive, but you already knew that, right?

Next, get an FTP program. Get ws_ftp or Filezilla or get Firefox and install its add-on named FireFTP. Open it up (whichever one or two or all three) you got and %26quot;set up an account%26quot; specifying a name for the account (any ol%26#039; name will do, like %26quot;Herbert Hoover%26quot;) and the host address (that%26#039;s the FTP address mentioned earlier and the userid and password. Check %26quot;remember password%26quot; to save yourself some grief and retyping later. Click Connect. Select Your folder and the host%26#039;s folder (actually, the host%26#039;s folder is already over there...) See, you%26#039;ve got a divided window in view, with a view of your folder in one and the host%26#039;s mostly empty, for now, folder, in the other. Select files in your folder, and there%26#039;s likely an arrow, click it, and copies of files will be transferred to the host.

Dah you go. When you%26#039;re happy, Disconnect. Exit

Other Replys:If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a %26quot;homepage%26quot; which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the %26quot;homepage%26quot; URL is likely to be %26quot;http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name%26quot; and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., %26quot;mydomain.com%26quot; which allows you to link any registered domain name to %26quot;mask%26quot; another website. For example, should you type in the %26quot;domain name,%26quot; you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

Here%26#039;s a demonstration: Type in the URL window: %26quot;www.pizzanextdoor.com%26quot; which will bring up their pizza website. Take note of the domain name. Then type in the URL window: %26quot;http://home.pacbell.net/vten/1a/pizzame... and you will see that this is the original homepage which is unmasked without the domain name.

Good luck!

Other Replys:There are two principal steps to make your website on the internet and registering/booking a domain name is the number one.

A domain name builds the address of your site and can end in . com, . net, . org, . info, . us, . biz, . tv and further.

Directly afer you have registered your name, you will pick a web host (2nd step). The web host is the guts of any website as this is where you build and publish your pages, build purchase fillings, insert service and preserve your site.

How to Select the Best Domain Name

If being in the foremost search engines (Yahoo!, MSN, etc. ) is tremendously essential to you, I extremely urge you index a name that includes your major keywords as an alternative of your enterprise name.

Imagine about it. The normal visitor searches by theme, not by correct name. So why it may seem cool to have a name corresponding Jack%26#039;sLinux. com, you%26#039;ll wish to select a name that contains keywords that your intended spectators would likely use when they search.

So with that in thinking, a name like Begin-using-Linux. com would be much enhanced than Jack%26#039;sLinux. com. Sure, you can still list your corporation name on your web pages, but I think it%26#039;s more important to make sure the domain name consist of your eminent %26quot;search friendly%26quot; keywords if you want to receive traffic from all over.

No doubt, you can still register your firm name on the web site some area, but your domain name will consist of all the significant keywords you%26#039;ll want to be found with.

Is there any way to host your own web site ?

Nope, cant be done. Millions have tried and failed.

Is there any way to host your own web site ?

Yes, just set up a computer as a web server and load your page on it. Then sign up for a domain name and point it to your IP address.

Is there any way to host your own web site ?

I think for that you need a computer connected to the internet 24/7 and a permanent IP address from your ISP

Other Replys:Yeah you can, I know plenty of people that do it. There is actually a guy that runs a dating site on his own servers and it has about 500,000 visitors a month. Depending on the application, I would not use just a computer. They do not have the security measures that real servers have. You can get a server from dell and they will teach you how to work it. If you only plan on having a few people on the site with no databases or information being transmitted, then a computer with a dedicated IP will work ok. Good luck!

Other Replys:Yes, but unless you know what you%26#039;re doing, it%26#039;s often a bad idea.

The bare bones of it is: You set up a computer as a server, get a permanent IP address from your ISP (often costs more), get a domain name for your website (you have to get that anyhow), and then add content and maintain the computer.

The problem is, if you don%26#039;t know computer security well, there are a host of things that could go wrong. The vast majority of spam comes from improperly set up Windows servers that have been hacked into by automatic processes. Don%26#039;t add more to that, please. Securing your own server is a lot of work to learn, and can be a big pain in the butt if you get it wrong. There have been reports of people getting jailed for having child porn on their servers that they didn%26#039;t know about, because they didn%26#039;t know how to secure their servers.

So...is all that hassle really worth $50/year? It is if you%26#039;re interested in learning about technology and security, but if you%26#039;re just trying to save money, it%26#039;s probably a bad idea.

Other Replys:You can do it, but why? Hosting services have gotten so cheap that its not worth it. Here is a guide to getting started: http://www.richkahmer.com/build-a-websit...

I recently purchased hosting for my web page on Yahoo, but my site doesn't ever come up in a we

This can take some time. But to help do some research on how to add META tags to your page. This speeds things up.

I recently purchased hosting for my web page on Yahoo, but my site doesn%26#039;t ever come up in a web search?

You will have to submit the webpage to the engines, or at least get links to it from other sites so the search engines can find it. You can start by linking your site in your Answers profile, on your 360 page if you have one, or anywhere else that you know of. They Yahoo! Directory and DMOZ are also good places to list your site.

Web Cam Hosting?

I have a web cam and so does my mom who lives in another state. We used to use AIM Triton (Instant Messaging) to be able to talk and see one another but their site has changed and don%26#039;t work very well. Does anyone know of another site that we can use for free to web cam eachother?

Web Cam Hosting?

Yes, as it%26#039;s said above, you should download msn or you also have yahoo messenger that will allow you to do so.

Additional option: skype, with this one you can also make phone calls with your pc to a normal phone paying very cheap prices (from pc to pc is free just like msn and yahoo messenger, and of course you can use your cam for free).

good luck

Web Cam Hosting?

just download msn, its free and supports both webcam but also skype type phone calls so you can call and see her for free.

What do I have to do to host my own web site?

You can use any old (or new) PC and load linux. Install and configure Apache server. Copy your website to this computer and obtain a public IP address from your ISP. You don%26#039;t need any expensive servers unless you will expect tons of traffic (in that case you will also need a better connection to your ISP).

What do I have to do to host my own web site?

If you want to host your own web site you would need a server, a very expensive peice of equipment. If you just want your own .com adress many web hosters have it for a fee, such as geocities.com or freewbes.com

Both also have free versions where your web site it like geocities/uername/filename

Other Replys:You are asking to host your own website. That%26#039;s not having a %26quot;free%26quot; site or any other %26quot;paid%26quot; company host it. You will need a server. I would recommend running Windows Server 2003 Small Business Edition. I would recommend a %26quot;starter%26quot; server like the one listed in the link below. Prices start at around $500, but you can find a deal on a lesser, used server on Ebay. You don%26#039;t need much unless your website is very successful, getting thousands of hits a day. Once you%26#039;ve gotten one, you%26#039;ll need to install IIS (Internet Information Services) which is the program that runs in the background that allows folks to access your website. It comes with Windows server OS%26#039;es so there%26#039;s no extra charge. You will need a broadband connection such as DSL or a cable modem with a static (non-changing) IP address. You will need to either host your own DNS (same server, different service, also free) or pay a yearly fee for DNS hosting. If you choose to host DNS, you will need to forward port 53 and port 80 to on your router to the new server. Of course, you will also need to register your domain name with a domain registrar like godaddy.com or networsolutions.com. When you set that up, you will need your static IP address to assign the name servers for that domain (NS1 and NS2). You will need to add the appropriate records to your DNS server as well. Once this is done, simply place your website (already created, I hope!) in the root folder for IIS (usually C:\inetserv\wwwroot) Make your default page either index.htm or index.html or default.htm (html) or if using active server pages .asp or aspx.

That%26#039;s it! It%26#039;s not an easy task for a novice, but I hope this helps!

Web Site Ranking?

I have registered a domain name and the site is under construction. have a hosting place now. i want to upload 3-4 test pages now untill i complete the correct site web pages. the actual site will be hosted in a different place in different IP address after about 1 months time. I want find out whether i will loose the traffic history, hit count and the ranking when i switch my hosting place to adifferent IP address after my site is completed.

Web Site Ranking?

I don%26#039;t think so and you should not worry about ALEXA they are not accurate anyway.

Web Site Ranking?

Alexa will not show a ranking unless you have decent traffic.

Most of it will be your visits anyway.

You%26#039;ll have no ranking or anything for ages.

And as the previous poster said, forget about Alexa, no one takes it at all seriously.

And why do you care how many people have come to a site that%26#039;s under construction. They will not come back.

Sorry, but that%26#039;s the way it is.

Get the site finished, then when you have something to care about, worry then.

How do i get my own DNS so I can host my own web site instead of paying someone else? Thanks.?

Before setting up your DNS, make sure you have a server.

The apache server is a good free option.

http://httpd.apache.org/

*note that you don%26#039;t have to have a DNS to check if your site works after the server is ready. just type http://localhost in explorer on the server computer.

to set up your own DNS, check a site that offers DNS redirection. What such a site does, is to convert your computer IP address to http. from 175.964.65.65 to www.mysite.com. (or, in short, providing you with a DNS)

most sites will do that for a fee (yahoo?), other sites offer free DNS for several limited domain names (it means the last part of your address is limited to say, http://YourSite.servebeer.com)

try:

http://www.no-ip.com/

or

http://www.dyndns.com/services/pricing/#...

a trick you can use to have your %26quot;pretty%26quot; html adress is URL cloaking. This basically put a mask on the address in the explorer address bar, so that the user thinks he%26#039;s at one address, while he%26#039;s actually is the %26quot;ugly%26quot; free domain name you got.

couple of tips:

for a basic understanding of what you%26#039;re doing, visit

http://www.code-crafters.com/support/ser...

if you are using a router, you%26#039;ll have to define a forwarding on your router, so that it will send all the information coming into port 80, to the computer where your webserver is on. check your router help documentation for that. (oh, and if your router uses dynamic routing - that%26#039;s bad... cause the IP of your server will change every time you restart)

In general, NTFS file system is more secure... so if your computer runs of FAT32 file system - you might want to reformat (it%26#039;s another complicated story though). and, Of course, make sure you have a good anti-virus.

What exactly do web hosts do?

I am looking to set up my own website and am aware that I will more than likely need a web host due to the size of the roject I wish to undertake. I was wondering what they do and how much work they do. For example, will your web host ensure that your site does not get infected with viruses?

Also, how much do web hosts cost?

The more information you can provide the better, as you can see I have a complete lack of knowledge about web hosts!

What exactly do web hosts do?

Web hosts typically just host the website and maintain the server it is on and that is about it. They will make sure the server is up and running properly performance wise and that it is secure.

What exactly do web hosts do?

Here is a good one, and they explain all details:

i) Power may go down and your UPS will not last more than 1 hour

ii) Internet Link may be issue and your site is not reachable

iv) You may not know how to configure firewall and your system

is vulnerable

v) You may not know system admin activities to install some software for hosting

I personally use http://www.smiths-internet-services.com.... basically what they do is when you have yourself a website ready to be hosted and a domain name purchased you sign up with them.

They offer a free trial as well if you want to test the services.

They will set up an account for you with username and password protection as well as allocate space and transfers. This all gets stored on one of their computers (Server) which have firewalls and stuff so you do not get infected.

Also they do daily back ups incase the computer crashes and this way you do not lose any information on your website.

Hope this info has helped you.

Will using a shared host web server be ok?

My site currently is hosted with Yahoo. (SecuritySaint.com) . I am adding two more sites with different domain names and linking them together. I want to go to a less expensive host, will this effect my organic ranking? or hurt in any way? Any info. on CityMax web hosting? or Bluehost? I am considering them.

Will using a shared host web server be ok?

I can only speak in generalites as there are simply too many variables to refine my answer. In general, a shared host provides less overall bandwith than a dedicated host. So, if you share hosting, find a provider with fewer users. Fewer users means less competitin for the available bandwidth. There are web providers which will provide you with a dedicated hosting service, in which you are guaranteed a certain amount of bandwidth. Your specific needs will determine which is best for you. If you are cojnducting a business and need bandwidth, then a dedicated hosting service is best even though the cost per month will be higher. Shared hosting is cheaper than dedicated hosting, but then you have to compete with all of the other users of the same hosting service, and if they are doing business, may hog the bandwidth, which makes yours suffer. Your ranking may not change with bandwidth in search engines, since ranking comes from several parameters like hits per unit time and keywords, not throughput. You need to do more homework on the throughput issue. If cost is a factor, then by all means, go with the lowest per month, but your bandwidth/throughput may suffer. Only you can decide what works best for the purpose of your site(s) and how you conduct your web business, if indeed you are in business. I opted for a shared host with fewer users for my sites, but then again, I am not doing business, just running personal domains for my own entertainment.

Will using a shared host web server be ok?

Shared web hosts are not bad unless you are a very large corporation, I would recommend blue host because it has an auto installer which means you can auto install and manage like 27 scripts. They also have very good customer support ive heard, i am going to sign up with them in like a month or two.

This should%26#039;t hurt you because they offer a search site submission for free. Also, you have an easy to use control panel to transfer your content from anywhere you want.

Good Luck!

How to host a website made from a template, using a subdomain ?

Webstarts.com is your answer. It%26#039;s free to sign up and their online editor uses simple drag and drop functionality so you need zero web experience to build completely custom websites. They also have image search and video search tools, so dropping videos, images, text and even music takes 1 or 2 clicks at most. Check them out here: http://Webstarts.com

You can also register a domain or configure it to work with your existing domain. They make it really simple and provide everything: hosting, domain registration, tons of templates to choose from, images, videos, etc... I%26#039;ve never found anything out there quite like it. It%26#039;s pretty powerful, and at the same time super easy to use.

How to host a website made from a template, using a subdomain ?

I can tell you what%26#039;s the problem but I can%26#039;t explain how to fix it because it%26#039;s a lot more complicated.

You didn%26#039;t link those files correctly and that%26#039;s why you can%26#039;t see it from others%26#039; computer but yours. Basically you%26#039;re currently linking all the from directly from your computer and when you publish it, it%26#039;s calling out from your computer instead of your hosting server, of course others are not able to view but you.

Other Replys:If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don%26#039;t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...

They offer hosting of %26quot;unlimited domains%26quot; and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer %26quot;a free Domain Name%26quot; and installing service called %26quot;Fantastico%26quot;. I uploaded my site but I can't see anything on it.?

I do believe I uploaded everything correctly to my free web host site using an FTP client. After everything is finished, I tried checking te site on the URL provided by my hosting provider. I didn%26#039;t see anything on the site. I checked the page source and the thing that I can only see is %26quot;%26lt;script src=%26quot;http://www.hostsnake.com/fixstats.p... My site is located http://dmdavao.hostsnake.com

Also I tried another free web host which is gigacities and same thing happened. I cannot see anything. Am I missing something. I firmly believe I did upload everything including the database. I configured everything correctly in config.php but still nothing shows on the site (both in hostsnake and gigacities). Am I missing something? I need urgent help. Thank you very much.

Webhosting in India?

I need a web hosting company that has *servers in India*. I asked this question before, didn%26#039;t get the useful answer. Most of the web hosting sites I came across have offices in India, but servers in U.S.

Do you know of any web hosting company that has server in India? I know of two companies rediff and Net4. Rediff is my competitor, so I don%26#039;t want to host there. Net4India is very expensive for what they offer. I would appreciate if you can give me some pointers on this topic.

Thanks!

Webhosting in India?

Hi dude i%26#039;m facing the same issue if you got any answres let me know thanks.

Webhosting in India?

Have a look at http://www.freewebspace.net/search/power...

and search for webspace by server location.

Other Replys:Most people from India find it convenient to have their content hosted from overseas, for several reasons (like accountability of the leased line service providers etc). There are a large number of web site hosting service providers operating from India (accepting fee in INR etc), but most of them have the servers physically located overseas mainly in US and UK. I don%26#039;t know of any hoster in India explicitly stating their web servers are located in India, because it is not considered a selling point.

I don%26#039;t even think Rediff guys host sites on servers located in India, but because you said you are a competitor to Rediff, I assume you know about them better than I know. Good luck with your search, anyway.

Other Replys:Why in India? is there certain type of site or media server you need?

I recommend US for servers, their quite faster.

See my website: www.athmi.com | Loads very fast and uptime of 99.99% Contact the webmaster at http://www.thexeon.com he can surely help you find a server in India

Other Replys:try this (www.internetrunner.com) if u want a cheaper hosting with 99.99% uptime. Server are mostly located in UK and US.

How can I get a static IP adddress when my ISP assigns me a dynamic address? So I can host my own we

A way around a Static IP is using a Dynamic DNS provider like No-IP. You install a small program on your pc that updates your ip address each time it changes. Then you can access your ip using Dynamic DNS. I think some of the providers may offer using your own domain, but you may be interested in checking out low cost hosting providers.

How can I get a static IP adddress when my ISP assigns me a dynamic address? So I can host my own web site.?

You need to contact your isp to provide you with a static ip. The charges for this may be different and is generally offered by ISPs as a completely separate service than general internet access accounts. ISPs also offer hosting services wehreby they will give you some memory space on their and which you can access through ftp or any other remote serivce to upload your files. This web space will be hosted on a domain name(web site address) of your choice. This generally is cheaper than a static IP.

I want to start my own website. where should i start?

i have looked at some sites already that offer domain and web site hosting, site builders, and so on. i%26#039;m not dumb i get all that but what i don%26#039;t honestly understand is what i will get for my money if i sign up for them. i dont just want to create some website like what i did 6th grade for a science project, i want a fully functioning website , where people can sign in and out with usernames and passwords, chat, have profiles, etc. my gut tells me i won%26#039;t get that on 5.99/month. if it sounds too good to be true it usually is i guess. please suggest web site builders i can use to create a website like that. money is not a factor at this point, i just want suggestions. thanks so much

get an e-server? do you have a server to put your customers on?

Other Replys:I am a web designer but I can give you lots of information. You can get really good hosting for $2.95 a month from my favorite hosting company, http://crystaltech.com. They are reliable and have a great reputation along with hostmysite.com. The usernames/passwords thing is troubling me, do you want an ecommerce site? if so, you will spend more like 16-20/month just on hosting. getting the domain name (hwww.yoursitesdomain.com) is about $8.95/year from a site called %26quot;godaddy.com%26quot; which is my personal preference, though there are dozens of places to get a domain. please visit my site at http://www.frannysites.com and check out my profile. if you don%26#039;t want me to design your site, i can at least help you get started.

Other Replys:Well first thing first I would learn %26quot;HTML%26quot; see if your local college offers the class on it this will help you learn all the ins and outs of making a website. This will also teach you what kind of hosting you want and what you want it to do.

Other Replys:I have a site about bipolar disorder that is doing very well. the link below explains who I use and you can see exactly what they offer and what they cost. I have been very happy and am glad I purchased a total solution instead of a $5.95 month compromise.

Other Replys:you can do that all that such as livechat, membership or profiles and many more such as forum, blog, your own classified ads, photo galleries , guestbooks, but you need to check on the package that comes with the hosting. those above features are done using a script and need database. and you can customize it yourself but you need to learn how to use the tools yourself. they won%26#039;t do it for you. so if you want my recommendation which web host provides the tools and script in its hosting package you can check out below resources. read everything about their features packages and complete script section.

Other Replys:Sitebuilder is great. That%26#039;s how I built mine. Actually, I have two I%26#039;m working on at once. I just started them. I knew nothing and in 2 weeks I had two functioning websites. I know it%26#039;s not great yet, but it%26#039;s growing daily. I understand what I%26#039;m doing and I have total freedom of expanding in any way I choose. Sitebuilder also helps you get the traffic. It%26#039;s everything rolled up into one. I love it.

Other Replys:Important! Do NOT host your domain with the same people who host your web page!

This is super important. if you decide later on to switch web hosts, they can make life difficult by not allowing you to change your domain name registrar.

For this reason, I always ALWAYS encourage people do use a different company as their domain name registrar.

If you look for domain name hosting, all of them try and sell you web hosting at the same place. This is propaganda.

I use 1and1.com for a domain name registrar and I use a different host for my website.

I can%26#039;t say which hosts to use, but I will say, if you want anything with complexity, avoid the commodity based hosts

(I%26#039;ve had issues with godaddy.com before) here%26#039;s a bit of detail as to why I%26#039;m against the commodity %26quot;cheap%26quot; hosting providers.

http://www.geniegate.com/godaddy.php

They%26#039;d probably be good for static HTML pages though.

No. 1 concern is to use an alternate registrar for your domain name. You don%26#039;t want your domain name held %26quot;hostage%26quot; if you decide to switch HOSTING providers at a later time.

Good luck looking for one...most hosts, as you said, only offer a %26quot;piece of the puzzle%26quot;. My host gave me a free domain for the duration of my hosting plan though, which was reasonably priced. I need help setting up my email for my site "part 2" 10 points...?

I need to know who to set up an email account %26quot;at%26quot; my web hosting site. %26quot;They use Cpanel if that matters%26quot;

The hosting company support kind of sucks and takes for ever. So what do I need to do inorder to have my emails sent to admin@mysite.com?

**Note** I can make the email account in cpanel thats not the problem. It%26#039;s just getting them arrived at my site is whats wrong. I suppose it has something to do with the mmx records for my domain name. Am I right ? Can someone please refer a site I can read this at? Thanks...

I need help setting up my email for my site %26quot;part 2%26quot; 10 points...?

Unfortunately, this answer DOES involve your hosting company for the most part.

And it%26#039;s just MX, not MMX. Basically, the mail server needs to be setup and the mail routed to the mail server... by the main router and post master and all that.

If the host is that lousy, switch to a different one. As you control the register it takes less than 24 hours to update. This is important.

Other Replys:First of all, don%26#039;t use Office 2007/FrontPage to write web pages; they%26#039;re both horrible for doing this. Learn how to write web pages properly; you%26#039;ll be thankful in the future when you don%26#039;t have to debug MS%26#039;s proprietary HTML rubbish.

Learn HTML and XHTML. Learn different technologies like PHP, Ajax, javascript, etc. but learn how to do it to the web standards.

Any decent web hosting will offer what you want plus the LAMP option (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), on which most of the Internet is run.

Other Replys:The Microsoft database for web use (if you insist on Microsoft - it%26#039;s the 3rd best choice for web architecture - and %26quot;anything else%26quot; is in second place) is SQL Server, not Access.

Front Page is only usable if the host supports Front Page extensions. (FP adds its own code to your code - you have no control over that - which is a good reason to NOT use it. The fact that MS no longer supports it is another.)

try http://mrwebdomain.com or http://www.mywebdomain.com

they are really good domain sites, also if you need any help with logos, graphics, myspace layouts, forms, html, or want a whole website, check out http://hobographics.com - they are great and will work directly with you the whole time untill you are 100% satisfied and they have very good prices too.

How to get an existing domain which is not active in real ?

You do need to pay for the domain name, that involves registering the name, and you can then host it anywhere, the host servers will assist you in setting up your name on their servers but it is a pay for process

Other Replys:plain and simple (i have my own sight and know) that someone else has already bought and owns the rights to that sight.

try this

xyz123.org

the best sight I know out that that can help you is go to (I DON%26#039;T work for YAHOO) Yahoo, and find web hosting and then type in the sight you want and it will to say it is not avaiable but will give you many other options like .org to choose from, also www.microsoft.com offers the same service.

If it is not avaiable it will not be any other place you try unless you try .org or something else. When I bought the rights to my sight I own it for 10 years, most offer only terms like this for that long or longer.

Jamieson:

Very artistic.

Their is a thin line between a professional looking website and an artistic one that wraps around your personality.

By professional I mean the basic white background and the boxy features.

I like your website for one basic reason: %26quot;It%26#039;s different%26quot; and it is crafted %26quot;passionately%26quot;. That alone is enough to draw quite a chunk of visitors.

Bear in mind that some will still be repulsed for one reason or another. Fortunately we are talking about a pool of nearly one billion potential visitors.

I wouldn%26#039;t be worried about about it after all thoroughly ugly websites like http://www.craigslist.com/ are doing so well.

I checked your Search Engine stats and I have a feeling your website is new.

If that%26#039;s the case, just market it to the search engines relentlessly. You will eventually get there.

I%26#039;m wanting to start an online business, but I know very little about things like web hosts, web sites, domain names, etc. and there are so many providers to choose from that I don%26#039;t know who to choose from or even where to start. I don%26#039;t want to spend a lot of money until I know if my business will do good, but on the other hand I don%26#039;t want to buy anything that is%26#039;nt any good. I%26#039;d appreciate any tips on these matters

Where can I get a cheap, good website package (website, host, domain name) for starting an online business?

I try different ones and even Godaddy.com but I found a better one for me because I don%26#039;t know nothing about web designing or HTML programming. Just go to Cogni360host.co.nr they offer a lot more for a good price. The basic package which is $5.95/month have way more than the premium packages form other companies.

They also give you a free domain name or url, free web templates, and a free online web site builder that is really easy to use... No programming necesary.

Just take a look at their web site...

Hope you the best man.

Yahoo

They have very reliable and economical packages.

Other Replys:YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Other Replys:Hi,

The best way to start economically would be to choose some quality web solutions development company at some offshore location. But dont go for a single freelancer to avoid any compromise on reliablity.

You can try the following company. I belong to this company. You can definitely get very attractive and low price rates with a good quality standard and very personal care.

Other Replys:The number one company in domain name registrations is Go Daddy. They provide the lowest price and top of the line hosting, mailing, shopping cart solutions, SSL, SSI, and 24 hour service contacts. I%26#039;ve used them for 4 years and never had a complaint. http://www.godaddy.com/

Other Replys:I%26#039;d have to say godaddy.

You can%26#039;t beat there price and they offer decent packages for ecommerce.

Help again please!!! web domain/hosting?

okay I%26#039;m gonna ask again just to be sure....here is what is going on. I and this other girl(becky) were members of a site the original owner(brad) decided to give it to us. She transfered the domain name to me. then she transfered the host stuff to Becky. Well then Becky decides that she is the sole owner of the site and I have nothing to do with it anymore. I was wonder what having the domain in my name means and if there is anything that I can do? What is the difference between hosting and the domain? I am so mad lol I don%26#039;t really now what to do. Thanks for the help!

Help again please!!! web domain/hosting?

The domain name points to the Web server and the site on it. For example, the domain name answers.yahoo.com points to the computers at Yahoo! that host Answers.

You quite clearly need technical, and possibly legal, help.

1. You need to establish who is the registrant of the domain name. The registrant is the %26quot;owner%26quot; of the name. It%26#039;s the Registrant who ultimately determines what is done with a domain name, such as what Web server it points to.

You can find out who the registrant is by visiting a Whois server, such as http://www.netsol.com/whois and searching for your domain name.

If you are not the registrant, you are out of luck and this conversation is basically over.

If your name is listed as the Registrant, you can basically change other information about the name and get it to point at a new site.

One thing you will want to do if you are the registrant is change the administrative, billing and technical contacts to be yourself. How you do that depends on who the registrar is. The registrar is the company that sold Brad the domain name.

Then, you%26#039;ll want to change the DNS (Domain Name Servers) to point to something other than Becky%26#039;s Web site. Again, how you do that depends on the registrar.

It may well turn out that even if you are listed as the registrant of the site, you cannot hold claim to it due to legal reasons, or that you may be infringing on some rights Becky has, etc.

That%26#039;s why I say you are wise to contact an attorney knowledgeable in this area, or work with a consultant familiar with such matters.

Help again please!!! web domain/hosting?

domain = a name given to the website to cover the web hosting default adress.

web hosting = a web hosing company runs a server to put ur stuff in and run on a web site.

domain name is not free u have to pay it per year.

webhosting, there are some free ones but some are not free

Other Replys:If it is in your name, you should be the rightful owner. Figure out what site the domain name is registered through (e.g. GoDaddy.com), contact them, and change your password if needed.

Other Replys:Both parts are EQUALLY important for overall success of the web site. If you cant work together, one should buy the other out.

Get a quote of the web sites worth at:

Other Replys:You need a domain like www.yourname.com and then will need webhosting to publish your web pages.

If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don%26#039;t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work.

By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. Webhosting site template = a space of 300 MB on my Reseller and a domain for a year?

i can help u with that.......contact me

What site should i use?

Ok.... I have this nice looking template I would like to use to make a website for my gaming clan. First off, i need to know what is a good FREE web hosting site that you can upload YOUR OWN templates on to. Next, I need to know how you put the template on the site. Personally I don%26#039;t care about the URL, so whatever works i%26#039;ll use it. Thanks =)

http://www.zendurl.com/ is a great free web hosting sub domain site. you can host up to 500mb!

What site should i use?

www.freewebs.com i think

Website Ideas?

Anyone have any website ideas?? Or any free web hosting sites or html codes ??

Website Ideas?

yeah i use these try em out there are loads of playboy bunnies and stuff..

http://www.pimpmyspace.org/

and for html codes

http://www.angelfire.com/oh/jeannierocks...

Website Ideas?

http://www.freewebspace.com or http://www.50megs.com are two web hosting sites where you can get your own website. You can just right click on any website and click %26quot;VIEW SOURCE%26quot; to see their html code. But you have to write your own html or upload an html file that you copied or whatever into these servers. The good thing about them is that you can have your own name on the web page like yourname.freewebspace.com, yourname would be your own name.

I see a lot of people using http://www.myspace.com to create their first website because they make it user friendly. All you need to do is basically type in some fields and do a few clicking and make a free website through them.

any free mp3 file web hosting sites i should know about?

How to convert your song files (from your computer) into MP3 files, so you can upload them to a website?

According to this website, you can use iTunes to convert music into .mp3 format. Here is a walkthrough:

http://www.wellesley.edu/Computing/Idocs...

You will need to download iTunes from the Apple website to use the program, of course:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Good luck!

How to convert your song files (from your computer) into MP3 files, so you can upload them to a website?

Free software from http://www.tucows.com look for %26quot;Audacity%26quot;, it%26#039;s a knockoff of adobe audition software and can convert file types from .wma (windows media audio) to.mp3

You can also use Windows Media Player to rip tunes from CD%26#039;s and save as .mp3%26#039;s

Other Replys:It depends on the format that your songs are currently in. In my opinion, the easiest way to convert music is using iTunes, especially since so many people are familiar with it, due to the popularity of the iPod. iTunes can be downloaded for free at www.apple.com/itunes.

First, in the Preferences menu, select Advanced, and then click on Importing. In %26quot;Import Under,%26quot; select MP3 Encoder. Click OK.

Next, select the songs you want to convert. If there are more than one, you can press shift while clicking on the songs, to select a batch. Once the song names are highlighted, go the the Advanced menu and select %26quot;Convert selection to MP3.%26quot;

Done!

(And please don%26#039;t forget, uploading music to the internet for file sharing is against the law. Just a friendly warning.)

I will chose you for best answer if you even care about the points. Don%26#039;t recommend me to any web hosting sites please. If there is someone willing to help me out in there off time shoot me an email and I%26#039;ll give you the specifics on what i want it to look like. Thanks so much in advance.

Making a Website?

Hey I know it would be great to find someone to do it for you and maybe there is someone out there who will. But you are probably capable of doing it yourself (even without any knowledge or experience) and just think how proud you would be! As a helpful suggestion take a look at this site: www.1stsitefree.com. You can also check out www.freewebs.com. You can do it. Good luck!

Other Replys:Well I don%26#039;t know of a free one. I know this one company that does website design for really cheap - and it%26#039;s this content management kind, where once they are done you%26#039;re able to manage the site and make changes to all the content and pix and stuff like that. I don%26#039;t know a ton about their prices but I know that their cheapest package starts at like $199 and they do all of your hosting and stuff for cheap.

Plus they have all of the add ons like shout boxes, blogs, journals, flash design graphic design. Stuff like that.

Their site is

they%26#039;ve got a gallery i think...

How do I go about purchasing a domain name and a web host?

I am new at web design and I was told that I need to buy a domain name and a web host to make my site %26quot;live%26quot;. I am doing this for a coffee shop. Also, is it really necessary to buy those? Any advice and information pertaining web design is welcome. Thanks

How do I go about purchasing a domain name and a web host?

Hi Jen,

Yes, you do need to buy/purchase a domain name first. Next you need to have your domain %26quot;hosted%26quot; somewhere. This is where you will store all the computer code (like Java Scripting or HTML, etc) and pictures or whatever you like on that server. I%26#039;ve been a webmaster for a few websites for the past several years, and it%26#039;s very rewarding. I collect license plates for a hobby and thus started my own license plate collecting webpage back in 1999. There is a LOT of competition for website domain registration as well as hosting services. In many cases, you can get a %26quot;combined%26quot; package and save money by getting both. One company that I use and is very competitive is godaddy.com. Yahoo has it%26#039;s own hosting service as well.

Hope that helps and good luck to you!

How do I go about purchasing a domain name and a web host?

Google %26quot;top ten hosting companies%26quot; or something like that and there are several websites devoted to comparing features and values for the cost. It is hard to answer because it does matter what purpose you plan to use if for and how much traffic you expect from it.

Other Replys:Yes you would need a domain name which is usually bundled with a web hosting plan. There are many hosting companies out there. Some of those hosting companies will always have software that would help you design your site or will do a design for extra money..

I have tried different hosting companies, but the best by far is lonex.com

I am with them since 1999 and still going. They upgrade their service to benifit the customer regularly with new servers and services.. I would definitely recommend them to the beginner and the pro, their hosting control panel is so easy to use and their services are by far the best out there..

Good luck,

Other Replys:Try www.godaddy.com where you can buy a name and have it hosted with emails.

As to web designs, you could try Microsoft Frontpage which in its basic format, easier to work with than some others I know, if you search google for free webpage designer, you should find some that are free.

Other Replys:Technically speaking, you are not buying the name - you are renting it. If you do not renew it within the renewal period (usually one year) then it is available to all - especially to some trolls who just wait for people to forget to renew and then charge them a significant fee to get their domain name back.

Some hosting plans will automatically renew the domain name as long as you are on the plan. Plans cost from $25/year and up, depending on the amount of traffic you expect, software features, number of domain names attached, type of database running, need for CGI or ASP, type of server (MS/Linux/Other) and countless other options.

You also have the option of running your server in your basement, if you have a broadband connection, don%26#039;t expect too much traffic and your client is not too demanding in terms of security and uptime. You will need a static IP in this case.

You could look for plans at 1and1.com, Yahoo, godaddy.com and others. My suggestion: first go window shopping to see what is available and at what cost, then figure out what you need, and then pick one. As long as you keep good backups, you could always transfer the site to another hosting service if you are not happy (unless you use the service%26#039;s special tools).

Other Replys:For a domain name. Name Cheap.

Hosting. I%26#039;ve been using Host Gator for years.

http://www.hostgator.com

Under $9 monthly.

Web designs? You can get free one%26#039;s at Open Source Web Design.

http://www.oswd.org/

Other Replys:Yes you will need a domain name. You can get one at http://www.godaddy.com

You will also need a hosting company, the company I use and highly recommend is:

http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affi...

A domain name is of course the www address visitors will type in to go to your website. A hosting company is needed to display your website to other people, unless you have a server in your house a host is a must.

When I first started out with web design I used coffee cup and it worked well for what I needed at the time. It%26#039;s a great tool to learn with, you%26#039;ll be a pro in no time:)

Good Luck!

Some of the better hosting companies will provide you with software to help you build a website. As far as cost I know they are having a special where you can register a domain for $1.99 when you buy a non domain product so I think you%26#039;re looking at $1.99 up front and around $5 a month for hosting.

google bombing?

well first off... if your website has nothing to do with the link you are posting, then you will not be bumbing there rank on search engines.

secoundly search engines do not hold in high reguard free website with links, and they have little to no impact on ranking.

A great hosting service, is Yahoo!s Bussiness Service, that is a great price and has a great many features for biggining web programers.

lastly,.. the links themselvs...

HTML is your best bet .. and use this...

You just have to cut and paste html code.

They have no ads at all, and you get a fair amount of space - 200 MB with 5 GB monthly traffic. You can also use PHP, Perl, and mySQL, and uploads through FrontPage. If you have a domain you can also have it transferred and get up to 5 free email accounts for the domain. Your address is a subdomain like [username].awardspace.com . The only downside so far has been no SMTP for sending email. You can view my current site at http://aibopassion.awardspace.com

You only asked for no advertisements, well there are many more criteria to consider before investing 100%26#039;s if not 1000%26#039;s of hours promoting a web site.

Did you consider that deep in a user agreement the site you create may not be your own after you check %26quot;I agree%26quot;.
